The basic principle

Your data stays on your phone. Nothing is synced to any server of ours — the cars, documents and expiry dates you enter are stored locally, in a database on your phone. We don't have access to them.

What you enter in the app

License plate number, make and model, VIN (optional), the name and category of each document, its expiry date and the reminder intervals you choose. We do not ask for your personal identification number (CNP), real name, payment details or other sensitive data — please avoid entering such data in free-text fields (e.g. “document name”).

Backup

The manual backup (Settings → Local backup) creates a file that you save or send yourself, wherever you choose — we never receive it. If you choose a password, the file is encrypted (AES-256) and can't be opened without it, not even by us. Separately, if your phone's automatic backup is on (Google on Android, iCloud on iPhone), the system saves the app's data to your account by itself: your cars, documents, reminders and settings. That backup is managed and encrypted by Google or Apple, and we have no access to it; you can turn it off at any time in your phone settings. Photos and PDFs attached to your documents are excluded from it and stay only on your phone.

Automatic road vignette check

If you have entered a car's VIN, then when you add the car or tap “Recheck automatically” on its road vignette, the license plate number and the VIN are sent to the official public CNAIR service (erovinieta.ro) to find out how long the vignette is valid. ITP and RCA are not checked automatically, so nothing is sent for them. No other information from the app is sent to CNAIR or to anyone else.

The “nearby” search (location)

The app reads your phone's position only when you search for nearby ITP stations, car services or tire shops (Resources → Cars) and allow location access. It then sends the coordinates, together with the type of place you are looking for, to the public OpenStreetMap Overpass service (servers in the European Union), to get the list of places. Your location is not saved in the app or used for anything else. The “See all in Google Maps” button opens Google Maps with the search text only, without your coordinates.

Error reports

If the app runs into an unexpected error, it automatically sends a technical report to Sentry (services hosted in the European Union) so we can fix the problem: the error message, where in the code it happened, your phone model, and the system and app versions. Reports do not include your documents, expiry dates or photos, and are not used for advertising.

Notifications

All notifications are local, scheduled directly on your phone by the operating system — they don't go through any external server.

Ads

The current version of the app doesn't show ads and doesn't collect data for advertising purposes.

Links to other websites

The app links to official websites (RAR, AIDA, CNAIR, MAI) and to a single commercial site, marked as such (an RCA price comparison site). We receive no commission from any of them and send them no data about you — tapping a link simply opens the website in your browser.

Your rights

You can view, edit or delete any document at any time, directly in the app. You can export all your data to a file (Settings → Local backup → Export backup) and import it on another phone. Uninstalling the app deletes the data from your phone; if Google backup is on in your phone settings, a copy stays in your Google account and can come back after a reinstall — you can delete it from your Google settings. You can file a complaint with ANSPDCP, the Romanian data protection authority (www.dataprotection.ro), if you believe your rights have been violated.
