Frequently asked questions
How do notifications work?
For each document you choose how far in advance you want to be reminded (by default 14 days, 7 days and 1 day before it expires) — for each one, you get a local notification on your phone at the time set in Settings. Car documents have longer default intervals (30/14/3 days), because they usually need an appointment. You also get a notification on the expiry day and two more afterwards (the next day and a week later) if the document hasn't been renewed. The date of the next notification is shown on each document's details screen.
Why didn't I get a notification?
Most often, notification permission hasn't been granted (check your phone's Settings), or the phone has aggressive battery optimizations that stop apps in the background — turn them off for Nu-mă-uita. Also check the notification time in Settings: reminders arrive at the time you chose there. The exact steps for your phone are in Settings → “Notifications not arriving? Check your phone”.
How does automatic checking work (ITP/RCA/road vignette)?
Only the road vignette is checked automatically, directly with CNAIR, if you've entered the car's VIN. You fill in the ITP and RCA yourself: their official sources don't allow apps to check them automatically.
How do I set the new date after renewing a document?
Open the document and tap “I renewed it” (or swipe the document to the right in Documents). Choose how long the new one is valid — for example 12 months for RCA or 2 years for the ITP — and whether it's valid from today or continues from the old one (handy when you bought your RCA or road vignette early). You see the calculated date before saving, and notifications are rescheduled automatically. If the date on the document is different, choose “Another date…”.
What if I change my car?
Nothing special — your subscription isn't tied to a specific car, but to the app. You can edit the plate number and make of your existing car from its details screen, or delete the old car and add a new one. Either way, you don't need another subscription.
Is my data safe?
Your cars, documents and attached photos are stored on your phone — we don't send them to our servers. The few cases where something leaves your phone (the road vignette check, the nearby places search, error reports, your phone's Google backup if it's turned on) are clearly described in Settings → Privacy Policy.
How do I back up my data?
Go to Settings → Local backup → “Export backup” — this creates a file you can save wherever you like (Files, an email to yourself, etc.); if you email it, turn on “Protect the backup with a password” so the file is encrypted. On a new phone, “Import backup” adds whatever isn't already on the phone — nothing that's already there gets duplicated. On top of that, if your phone's automatic backup is on (Google on Android, iCloud on iPhone), your documents are saved to your account by themselves. Attached photos and PDFs are not included in any backup — they stay only on the original phone.
I deleted a document or a car by mistake — can I get it back?
Yes — any deleted document or car stays in Settings → Trash for 30 days before it disappears for good (a car together with its documents). You can restore it from there at any point during that time. Archived (not deleted) documents are kept separately, in Settings → Archive, with no time limit.
What's the difference between the Free and Premium plans?
For now, every feature is free, with no limits. If a subscription ever appears, you keep everything you use until then free, forever — the limits would only apply to people who install the app after that. Details in Settings → Subscription.
How do I delete all my data?
The app has no accounts, so there's no account to delete. To delete everything you've saved, uninstall the app from your phone (or delete each car and document if you want to keep the app). If Google backup is on, a copy stays in your Google account — delete it from Google Settings → Backup.
Why does the app ask for notification permission?
It's the only way the app can let you know that a document is about to expire without you having to open it and check manually. Without it, the app works the same — you just won't get notifications.
