The Romanian road vignette from 1 October 2026: what changes?
From 1 October 2026 the vignette price depends on your car's emission class: electric cars pay least, then Euro VI, Euro V–IV and, most, Euro III and older (Order no. 888/2026, Official Gazette no. 818 of 25 September 2026). The periods stay the same: 1, 10, 30, 60 days and 12 months. Also from 1 October, vignettes are bought through CNAIR's new TollRo platform (etoll.ro).
What it means for you
The vignette you already have stays valid until its end date. At renewal the price may differ from last time. Check the amount on etoll.ro before you pay. If your car's emission class isn't known, the most expensive rate (Euro 0) applies.

The 7-day and 90-day road vignettes are gone. If you used to buy the 90-day vignette, the closest options now are 60 days or a full 12 months. The app already offers the new periods under “I renewed it”.
Where to buy it
You buy it online, on etoll.ro or in the TollRo app, in minutes. For cars the periods are: 1 day, 10 days, 30 days, 60 days and 12 months.
What it costs
The price depends on your car's emission class: the cleanest ones pay least, and electric cars get the lowest rate. If the emission class isn't known, the highest rate applies. The exact amount is on etoll.ro.
After you buy it
Nothing goes on the windscreen, it is electronic. After buying, check on the CNAIR page that it is registered to the right plate — one wrong letter means you have no vignette at all.
