What to bring
- Your valid ID card, the original
- Proof that you paid for the passport
- Your previous passport, if you still have it
- For children: the birth certificate and the parents' consent

How long it takes
It takes up to 5 working days for applications filed in Romania and collected in Romania. In very busy periods it can stretch to 10 working days.

In Romania there is a single fee, the same for the electronic passport and the temporary one. The amount is on the official page.
Worth knowing
The photo and fingerprints are taken at the counter — you don't bring your own photo. And don't book your tickets before it is in your hand: many countries require it to stay valid for a while after you enter, and each state sets its own rule (check on mae.ro).
